A 12th minute goal from Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene, a 54th minute goal from Gaël Deborah Enganamouit and a third goal from Nchout Njoya Ajara at the 60th minute enabled the Indomitable Lionesses to secure their qualification for the semi finals as they thrashed Algeria 3-0 on match day 2 of Group A on Tuesday in Accra.
The 2016 losing finalists became the first nation to book a ticket for the African Women’s championship taking place in Ghana winning in all their two matches.
The win of Cameroon makes it four over their Algerian counterparts in the women’s competition and was Cameroon’s 52nd game at the tournament.
The Lionesses have this far won 22 of their matches played in the African women’s competition, drawn 10 and conceded 19 defeats.
The lionesses have now scored 65 goals and conceded 78 goals in the history of the tournament. Cameroon’s next game will be against host nation Ghana which will be the last in the group stage of the competition.
