The President of the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, Samuel Eto’o Fils and General Pierre Semengue, president of the Transitional Professional Football Council, TPFC are at loggerheads over who should appoint a new scribed for the country’s football power house.

This rift comes after the resignation of Benjamin Didier Banlock from the post of Secretary General of FECAFOOT on Wednesday MAY 18.

It is reported that Eto’o has appointed ,Paul Mebizo’o as interim Secretary General of the FECAFOOT, Mebizo’o was formally Secetary General of the Transitional Professional Football Council where Semengue is president. Mebizo’o had been suspended by Semengue on May 13.

In a letter to Semengue, Eto’o made it clear that the FECAFOOT is the guardianship of the CTFP and has the right to admit members of the commission, solely.

“FECAFOOT remains the guardianship of the CTFP and therefore has the sole authority to appoint the members of this commission,” Eto’o is reported to have written in his letter to Semengue.

Reacting to this, the president of the CTFP signed another letter noting that CTFP cannot be considered a commission of FECAFOOT despite its establishment being based on the provision of article 6 paragraph 3 of the statutes of the FECAFOOT.

He went further to reiterate that the administrative, financial and supporting autonomy promised since the establishment of the CTFP is still not effective.

Semengue stated that collaboration with Mebizo’o is no longer possible. He however, expressed his desire to accompany the FECAFOOT President in the realisation of his vision.
