After welcoming triplets:
Couple In Wait for a baby for 10 years urges others to Go For In-Vitro Fertilisation, Surrogacy

A couple of Cameroonian descent based in the United States, has seen their wait for a baby for 10 years ended thanks to In-Vitro Fertilisation and surrogacy.

They recently welcomed a set of triplets. They are now using their ‘miracle’ to inspire others across the globe facing the same challenge they once lived to go for In-Vitro Fertilisation and Surrogacy.

The father of the triplets, Gerald Meh who is a successful Cameroonian Fashion designer, and the owner of the EuroBoutique Fashion Shop in the U.S.A said the new development is an answered prayer.

To note that, Surrogacy is an arrangement in which a woman agrees to carry and give birth to a child on behalf of another person or couple While In-Vitro Fertilisation, IVF, involves removing the ova of a woman and fertilizing it with sperm in a laboratory for weeks before being implanted into the uterus of a woman for the pregnancy to develop.

Gerald Meh revealed that surrogacy became a full option for himself and his wife during their 8th year of marriage still without a child. “During our 8th anniversary, we decided that it was time to try other options. One was surrogacy, and the second was adoption”.

How the Triplets Were born

Immersed in the joy of being called a father, Meh told MMI that: “My immediate and extended family are filled with joy, not forgetting family friends and loved ones who have been keeping my phone busy since the news broke out.

“Adoption was our second option if the InVitro Fertilization IVF Process didn’t work out,” he said, adding that:”we tried it four times unsuccessfully and the plan was that if it didn’t work out again, we will opt for adoption, but thank God it did work out”.

As solution for childless couples
According to the EuroBoutique boss, surrogacy is “not a myth, but a reality… Surrogacy is a pure science… There should be no stigma about someone carrying your kids if you can’t naturally carry one.

The father of triplets also explained that the process simply changes who the carrier of the child is, but not the parents.

“I would like people to know that the carrier has no genetic link with the baby/babies. They (babies) are biologically derived with the semen and embryos of the intended parents,” he explained.

The process to him, has no future repercussions like many may think. In his case, Meh said he sought the services of a carrier via a fertility clinic with an agency.

“… Once we made the initial payments for the process to begin, everything got started… They also ensure that there are no direct links with the carrier and the clients, as you know, she doesn’t have any genetic link with the kids,” stated.

After finally getting his breakthrough, Meh urged rigid societies to start being receptive to such solutions. He said, “there are no downsides to surrogacy, rather I see our community embracing the minimally invasive procedures and its outcome”.
