The Senior Divisional Officer of Mfoundi Division, Djikdent Emmanuel has has banned the depositing of bags, cartons, packages in public spaces.
The information is contained in a release signed on July 12, 2022.
The measure according to the SDO will henceforth be effective throughout the Mfoundi Division.
In the release, Djikdent Emmanuel stated that, “Law enforcement agencies are authorized to search any package or bag considered suspicious, mainly the so-called black plastic packaging.”
He has as well indicated that persons caught with unjustified possession of objects like nuts, bolts, nails, pieces of iron, will be in danger with the forces of law and order.
It should be noted that the measure comes following yesterday’s explosion at the Mokolo market in Yaoundé, which happens to be the second in barely two weeks.
However several persons have viewed the said measures as weird since they consider it almost inapplicable.
