The President of the Non-Governmental Organization, Prince Motapene Mudika says the best way to fight hate speech is through empathy which will make us emotionally understand what other people feel.
“Our aim is to encourage love amongst Cameroonians despite their diverse cultural backgrounds and say No to Hate and Senseless killings of our fellow sisters and brothers because at the end we are the victims” he says.
With the education system haven failed to unite the people, the president feels a massive sensitization of our communities especially teenagers through a football competition would be ideal to fight hate from the grassroots.
To this effect, a football tournament was organised in Makati, Kumba with the blessings of the quarter head with the aim of fostering and preaching love. The tournament was sponsored by Ekoi Sylvia and was comprised of 5 teams; Future Dream FC, Talented Boys FC, Role Model FC, Dream Boys FC, and Young Stars FC.
The competition was won by Young Stars FC, and the organisers were positive that the good vibes enjoyed throughout the competition between the teams would work in the long run to curb hate amongst youths.
