The Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, for Ngoketunjia Division, Quetong Handerson Kongeh has said contrary to government’s instructions, all learners in his jurisdiction are expected in school when classes resume on June 1, 2020.
He was speaking May 12, 2020 at what appeared to be a crucial meeting with education stakeholders to prepare for school resumption billed for June 1, 2020.
Deliberations that held at the Ndop Conference Hall were exclusively focused on school resumption all over the Division.
Although the division registered no student for the forthcoming end of year official exams, the SDO insists that classes must begin for all learners come June 1st.
He says all student and pupils must go back to school irrespective of their classes.
“All students and pupils must resume classes in Ngoketunjia Division. The Ministers of Basic and Secondary education can not dictate terms on me, ALL Classes will operate,” he said.
Despite the safety measures enforced by the government to fight the dreaded COVID-19 , the Ngoketunjia SDO appears to be putting the lives of young Cameroonians of this Division in danger, especially with separatists still posing a security threat in the area.
