Alleged ‘juju man’ behind military raids in Bui villages killed, several others injured

The last few days have seen a series of military attacks on villages around Kumbo in the Bui division, North West Region.

From Kikaikom to Tadu, Mbiim and a host of other areas, hundreds have been forced to seek safety in bushes despite the rains and unfavourable conditions as the soldiers raid one village to the next wreaking havoc.

Musa, a man said to have been preparing charms for soldiers carrying out the attacks MMI is told “was just shot dead in Mbve by amba boys.”

This the source notes that the attack led to the exchange of gunfire that saw several other soldiers wounded. “Amba boys ambushed them while they were buying suya.”

Musa, the source adds was “a military man from the North and he brought some very dangerous juju that has been giving them the courage to move into interior villages.”

Prior to this, three persons had been reported killed by soldiers in Kikaikom who then proceeded to Tadu and Mbiim.

Bui remains one of the divisions with the highest rate of fighting between soldiers and separatist fighters since the Anglophone crisis escalated into an armed conflict.
