Amba boys ambush military convoy in Big Babanki

A military convoy that went to Boyo division, on their way back, have been attacked in Big Babanki (Kedjom Keku) by amba fighters.

The attack this Monday, September 20th, 2021, resulted in a serious shooting between the two sides.

Villagers have fled into the bushes for safety, while homes at the roadside have been broken into by government forces.

The Bambui-Fundong road that passes through Big Babanki for months now has been blocked by separatist fighters. Vehicles are allowed to ply the stretch of road only on Saturdays and Sundays.

The road was blocked in retaliation to the arrest of some drivers plying the road by the gendarmerie brigade in Tubah accusing them of collaborating with separatists.

“We have all ran into the bushes and it’s already dark in the village. The military was ambushed by Amba fighters and both have been shooting because blocks have been mounted on several spots along the road. The military has resulted in shooting randomly and breaking homes along the road”, a lady in Kezon Quarter explained as she and her family are running away from the roadside where they live.

It is not yet certain if there are any casualties.
