Amba boys execute head teacher of GS Ndop

Makue Cyprian, head teacher of GS Ndop was killed on September 20, 2021, in Ndop, Ngoketunja division of the North West, because of his efforts to enable government schools in Ndop open their doors.

He was among a good number of head of school establishments and teachers picked up by gunmen recently in Ndop, as they returned from a divisional cordination meeting of Ngoketunja geared towards schools resumption and the reopening of government schools in the division.

Separatist fighters had allowed schools to resume, but for Government schools which they had banned from opening their doors.

Few government schools in Ngoketunja have been transformed into what they call community schools, where the teaching of French language and the singing of Cameroon’s national anthem are banned.

The phenomenon of banning the functioning of government schools in the North West and South West of Cameroon remains rampant.

The Government has been paying teachers without them teaching. Many government teachers have been relocated to teach in the centre of towns where few government schools operate due to the relative calm the towns enjoy.
