Amougou Belinga, Bruno Bidjang spend first night at SED

The CEO of l’Anecdote Media Group, Jean Pierre Amougou Belinga, has passed his first night at the State Secretariat of Defence, SED, in Yaounde alongside his close collaborator Bruno Bidjang.

The media billionaire was arrested about 5:30am Monday, February 6, in connection with the killing of popular radio host Martinez Zogo.

Yesterday, l’Anecdote Media Group confirmed in a release that their boss had been arrested for an investigation.

Meanwhile, Vision 4 television, which is part of the media group, failed to report about his arrest during its English and French newscasts on Monday evening.

At the television’s head office in Yaounde, several security officers could be seen around the building, but media house went about its business undisturbed.

Yesterday’s arrest of Amougou Belinga appears to be the second time he is being questioned in relation to the gruesome killing of Martinez Zogo, former managing director of Amplitude FM, a popular radio station in Yaounde.

Belinga was briefly called up at SED and questioned on Friday, February 3, and several online media reported that he had been arrested.

But later that day, he drove around the city of Yaounde with his collaborators to prove he had not been arrested.

Reports say an estimated 20 people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Martinez Zogo.

Last week, the Cameroon Government announced that several people had been arrested and investigations were still ongoing to hunt down other people who have a hand in the journalist’s murder.
