Andre Onana reveals he would have been a Police Officer if he wasn’t a footballer

In a recent interview on the Premier League YouTube channel, Manchester United and Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana shared that if he had not pursued a career in football, he would have opted for a role as a police officer.

Onana explained, “I think I’d be a police officer, as I love to take responsibility,” and further added, “That’s why even my teammates call me ‘the boss.'”

The footballer also expressed an interest in politics, stating, “I love politics too. I’m always keen to learn about it. It helps me understand how the world works.”

Onana’s admiration for assuming responsibility extends to his deep respect for law enforcement personnel. “For me,” Onana declared, “working as a police officer is assuming one of the most honourable jobs in the world.”

While football fans appreciate Onana’s commitment to the sport, his insights into an alternative career path provide a glimpse into the character and values that drive him both on and off the pitch. His leadership qualities, sense of responsibility, and interest in community service are evident in both his chosen profession and his expressed aspirations.

Since joining Manchester United in July on a £50 million contract, Andre Onana has faced performance challenges but continues to improve daily.

Whether Onana will ever become a police officer remains unknown.

His love for this honourable job gives him more depth as a person. Behind the gloves and the shirt is a man who has a strong desire to help others and a thorough understanding of the world around him.
