The launching of a peace crusade by Hon. Jean Jacques Ekindi has been banned by administrative authorities in the city of Douala Thursday August 29, 2019.
After waiting for close to two hours for a meeting that was to start at 3:00pm at Salle de Fete in Douala, the main organizer of the peace crusade Hon. Jean Jacques Ekindi arrived visibly disappointed.

The former member of parliament explained to pressmen and women that administrative authorities in Douala called him yesterday Wednesday to say “the meeting cannot hold.”

On the reason stated by authorities why the meeting could no longer take place, the National Coordinator of the Progressive Movement party says no concrete reason has been given by the authorities.
“I was at the offices of the divisional officer of Douala 1, Senior Divisional Officer of Wouri and the Governor of the Littoral Region to no avail,” he added.
He attests having received an authorization from the divisional officer of Douala 1 to organize the meeting days ago.

Jean Jacques Ekindi had pledged to lead a back to school campaign in the restive North West and South West regions

He expressed deep regrets for Cameroonians, most especially those from the two anglophone regions that travelled to Douala for the launching of the national peace crusade to encourage back to school.
Questioned on what will be the next plan, Hon.Jean Jacques Ekindi says the struggle to restore peace in Cameroon will continue. He has not stated a new date when the meeting to launch the peace crusade will take place.

Honorable Jean Jacques Ekindi who challenged President Paul Biya in previous elections, suddenly took many by surprise after he declared for the CPDM natural candidate (Paul Biya). He described Paul Biya as the right man to address the prevailing crisis in Cameroon.
