Anglophone Crisis: Ngarbuh Victims Yet to Recieve Justice Two Years After Government-Led Massacre

It is now exactly two years today since the infamous massacre of children and pregnant women in Ngarbuh by elements of the Cameroon Defence Force in the Ndu Subdivision, North West Region.

Up till today, the families of the victims are yet to get justice for the Carnage by soldiers. In a habitual Cameroonian style, the victims have had the case at the military court in Yaoundé adjourned on several occasions by the justice system.

Most of the affected families, according to Barrister Tamfu Richard, have grown frustrated and have been financially exhausted all in the process of seeking justice.

Several trips paid to the courts in Yaoundé have yielded no fruits, and yet the case has kept on being adjourned to the dismay of victims. The latest of the adjournments was scheduled for February 17, 2022.

Despite the criticisms that arose following the Ngarbuh Massacre, the military has continued to perpetrate several other heinous acts in the Anglophone Regions.

Brutal raids by the military have become the new normal, and innocent victims of such expeditions are never offered justice.

Soldiers have also continuously acted nonchalantly in the regions, with little or no accountability from the authorities in Yaoundé.
