A self-styled General of the secessionist movement popularly known as mayor has been beaten to death by an angry mob in Ngie, Momo division of Cameroon’s restive North West region.

Mayor MMI gathered, was beaten to death in the night of Saturday breaking Sunday March 27, 2022. The Amba general was said to have been ambushed on his way back from a local market.

An eyewitness who identified himself only as Angu, told MMI that: “The guy was a nuisance, even his boys were not happy with the way he was treating people. He will beat mothers, fathers , the old and the young, he was a rapist and extortionist. He even prevented people from going to their farms and will only allow those who bribe him.”

Agu also said, the population had been reminding the Amba warlord that he is not more than the entire community. “They have made people to understand that they are not the only separatist forces operating around that area and beyond. They were told that others treat the population well so should learn to do same else they would be chased away,” Agu furthered.

Some locals of Ngie stated that, they are bent on defended themselves against anyone oppressing them be they soldiers or separatist fighters.

“We will live with anyone who treates us well and fight anyone who wants to enslave us” one of the inhabitants of Ngie declared.

It should be noted that the population has continued to suffer in the hands of the belligerents in the ongoing armed conflict ravaging the two English-speaking regions of Cameroon.

This has caused many to flee to other parts of the country where they live under difficult conditions. Those who don’t have a place to go and the means to move out are forced to stay and suffer the consequences.
