Weeks after the Ngarbuh massacre which saw the killing of over 35, the rate of violence in the Anglophone regions of Cameroon seems to show no signs of ending.
Apart from ten persons killed by the military in Small Babanki yesterday, in the Country’s North West region, a shocking video has emerged on social media showing the head of a “security officer” chopped off.
The video shows boys claiming to be Ambazonian fighters parading a street (in the conflict-hit region) with the chopped off head. “This is the head, this is a gun we have taken from him..it must be a lesson for others” some of the boys can be heard saying. This has sparked outrage on social media with many questions on when the crisis will come to an end.
The non-state fighters have not claimed responsibility, though they have carried out similar acts in the past.
There have been a surge in violence in the restive North West and South West regions since the start of this year. Hundreds of people have been killed with the majority of them being civilians.
