Anglophone Crisis: Separatists resume Rampant kidnapping in Bambili

Residents, teachers, students and business operators in Bambili now go about their activities in fear as a new wave of fresh kidnapping has hit the locality once again.

Between Thursday last week and Tuesday this week, about 10 people have been taken away are being kept against their wish by people who claim to be Separatists, fighting for the restoration of a yet to be created state called Ambazonia.

Residents say armed men on motor Bikes have launched assaults on beer palour operators along the university of Bamenda entrance.

Reports say each time these men show up, they place a request for a brasseries drink. Any bar tender who serves them is immediately taken hostage.

The victims are then carted away on Motor bikes to an undisclosed location.

According to family sources of a popular business man operating at the katica junction Bambili, Freddy Varieties, their father and husband has been in captivity since Thursday.

On Thursday about 7pm, guys entered our bar and asked for a brasseries Drink. When we served him one, they pointed a gun at us and accused us of being black legs l. Our proprietor was taken away and his kidnappers are now asking for the sum of five million in exchange of his freedom,” a source narrates.

Calls For Dreaded Bakari to return

With the surge in the number of kidnappings, there are mounting calls for the former Bridgade commander for Tubah fondly called Bakari.

During his reign as commander, separatist fighters in the area were given a run for their money and locals given a chance to breath, school, do business and enjoy life hitch free.
