Residents of the Bekatako village in Ndian Division, South West Region have escaped to the bush following a raid on the village by the Government forces today morning.
Bekatako, a village not far off from Ekondo Titi, in the Ndian Division, South West Region where some 4 students and a teacher were killed by alleged Separatists was targeted by the Cameroon army today morning, who were searching for separatists fighters.
The attack is said to have left at least one civilian dead, as he was deliberately shot by the soldiers because he attempted to run away from them.
A local has told MMI that they were surrounded by the soldiers in the morning and thoroughly beaten by them. We also learned that 5 other boys from the village were arrested and taken to Ekondo Titi by the soldiers.
The deceased who was shot by the soldiers has not been buried yet. Residents who are still in hiding, say the victim can’t be buried unless the military has left the village.
