The mayor of the Andek Council in Momo division of the North West region, Ubangoh Helley Akoba is using a World Bank project and promised government support to bait Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs of the Anglophone crisis in his municipality to return home.

Ubangoh made the appeal in a recent gathering in his capacity of President of the Ngie Cultural and Development Association. This was in Bamenda over the weekend.

Speaking at the event Ubangoh said , the first one thousand people to return home will benefit from government and world bank financial assistance. This, he said , would be through the Safety Net project. He also used the meeting to talk about other projects that will ensure the financial sustainability of the locality.

The president noted that the complaint of most of his people living out of the community has always been about the lack of financial resources.

The Ngie Cultural and Development Association is the development body that ties the Ngie people together. The Association has attracted hundreds of Ngie people and contributed to strengthening the cultural and development activities of the area.
