CBC sets Sunday November 28 aside for mourning and prayer for Cameroon

The Cameroon Baptist Convention, CBC has declared Sunday November 28 a national day of mourning and prayer.

The Convention’s executive president, Rev. Nditemeh Charlemagne has in a recent note, urged christians to dedicate time on this day to pray for Cameroon with special focus on the armed conflict in the North West and South West Regions.

“With Ekondo Titi coming to add to add to an already very long list of killings all Cameroon Baptist Convention christians are hereby invited to join in a collective peaceful mourning for the lives lost, human loves created and given out of love by God almighty,” the document read.

“Sunday 28 November 2021,” it went on, “is hereby declared a day of mourning and prayer throughout the Cameroon Baptist Convention.”

The CBC Executive President further instructed churches to carry out their services factoring the mourning of lost lives.

“As lovers of peace, let the mourning be very peaceful in your thoughts, words and actions. Back home after church worship service, spend your time in prayers for the bereaved families and for truth, justice and peace to reign. When truth and justice meet there will be peace,” he instructed.

The church has often denounced and called for an end to violence in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon, to no avail.
