Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute today presented the government’s economic, social and cultural program for the year 2022. This was during a plenary session at the National Assembly. Among other things, the PM said the government was hoping to cut down the budgetary deficit.



The Minister of Communication, Rene Emmanuel Sadi has warned against obscene, indecent practices that are contrary to public morals and acts of mob justice. He made the call at a press briefing today in Yaounde where he said there had been several incidents that suggest a “breakdown in social morality which reflects a retreat from our fundamental values.”

One person has died in Bekatako village, Ndian Division, South West Region after an attack by the military. The raid by the military comes a day after the Ekondo Titi school shootings which killed 4 students and a teacher.


Mass arrests were reportedly carried out at the Mvog-Betsi neighborhood in Yaoundé today by the forces of law and order. Residents say the forces invaded the quarter, arresting everyone discovered without ID cards. The reason behind the arrests is still unknown.


The former Assistant Secretary-General of African Affairs of the U.S, Tibor Nagy has condemned the attack by separatists on students at GBHS Ekondo Titi. The diplomate tweeted that such barbaric acts had nothing to do with a struggle for freedom and that educators and children should be out of bounds.



The Confederation of African Football, (CAF) has given its official approval to FIFA for the World Cup to be organized every two years. This opinion was made clear today during the CAF Extraordinary General Assembly in Cairo, Egypt.
