Another Nollywood actor, Amaechi Muonagor, has solicited for help from the public after suffering a stroke-induced paralysis.

This comes weeks after popular Nollywood actor, John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu, appeal for help while on a sick bed.

Similarly, in a viral video released from the hospital, Amaechi Muonagor said he suffered a stroke while on set a movie early this year.

He said he did not know the condition would persist until now.

In the video, the 61-year-old is lying on a bed and struggling to recount the circumstances leading to his condition.

“I’m sick, this thing that is called stroke caught up with me, and from there they rushed me to the hospital,” he said.

“The first hospital they rushed me to was in Nnewi, where I spent some two months and I was referred to Teaching Hospital Nnewi and here I am.”

“I was on a movie set with Emeka Ani, Patience Ozokwo, Rita Edochie, and Ebele Okaro. I was about to enter my car when I was struck with this problem and since then it has been getting worse. Right now, I can’t move, I can’t walk on my own. Half of my left leg is paralyzed, my left hand is not movable, so it is a problem for me.

“I’m calling on well spirited individuals to come to my assistance, to see how they can help me. It is paralysis, half of my body,” he solicited.

The appeal comes weeks after Mr Ibu, who is still undergoing treatment, beckoned on the public to assist him financially.

He suffers from a strange ailment that almost got his legs amputated.

In a video made from the hospital bed, he also entreated goodwill people to support him.

“As I speak to you, I am still lying down in the hospital; the medical director of this hospital said that the best solution is that, in case his new idea didn’t work, the best idea is to cut off my leg,” Me Ibu said.

However, latest updates from his family indicate that Mr. Ibu successfully underwent five surgeries and be seeking further treatment abroad.

Many Nigerians have been raising concerns about the financial crisis some veteran Nollywood actors are facing today.

While the younger generation of actors appears to be cashing out big from one the world’s largest film industries, those who laid its foundation seem to be languishing in want.

“What is really happening in the movie industry? Ooh God, please come through for him,” reacted Chioma Glory, a Nigerian Facebook user.

To Felix Udo, something isn’t right because the image the actors present on TV appears different from the reality.

“(When) we look at these actors in movies, we are tempted to think they are stinkingly rich,” he said.
