‘General’ Nokia captured by military in Konye

A separatist fighter identified as Mbiakeu Rigobert and popularly know as ‘General’ Nokia of the Ambazonia restoration forces has fallen into the dragnet of soldiers in Konye sub division in the South West region of Cameroon.

As source has hinted that soldiers ambushed and captured the fighter.

‘General’ Nokia is accused of among other crimes, masterminding the kidnap of some municipal councilors and staff of Konye council in the South West region during the municipal and parliamentary elections in 2020.

The hostages were detained for close to two weeks under deplorable conditions and the finger of a deputy Mayor was chopped off by the abductors he is said to have led.

To inhabitants of Konye, the capture of ‘General’ Nokia Monday March 8th 2021 permits them heave a sigh of relief, given the countless cases of violence and human rights abuses he and his boys were said to have been committing.
