The case brought against Ernest Obama for defamation by the Ayah Foundation is now taking a new twist.

The former journalist of Vision 4 television who now works for the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) was committed for trial recently by the Center regional court of Appeal after quashing an appeal filed by Ernest Obama challenging the competence of the Yaounde Court of First Instance over the case.

The case, which has been moving at a snail’s pace, is now getting full judicial attention, with the accused on the verge of being arrested.

According to an impeachable source at the Center Regional Court of Appeal who opted not to be named, “an arrest warrant has already been issued against Mr. Ernest Obama.”

It should be recalled that in a ruling delivered Thursday, July 28, 2023, the appeal court sent the case to the court of First instance competent for a full hearing after dismissing the challenge filed by the defendant

According to our source, the ruling carried a provision for Ernest Obama to be arrested.

While working for Vision 4 television some years ago, Ernest Obama claimed in several media outings that the “Ayah Foundation-a humanitarian organization, was supplying arms to Separatist fighters” who are battling the government in an armed campaign for the independence of the two English-speaking regions.

The allegations did not go down well with the humanitarian organization, which decided to seek justice through the courts, compelling Obama to present proof of his declarations.
