Besides security threat, the town of Bamenda is also plagued by series of challenges — particularly in the area of waste disposal and management.
Separatist fighters have declared war on the city’s Hygiene and Sanitation Company, HYSACAM.
This has paralysed the activities of the company, hence rendering the once cleanest town in Cameroon, the dirtiest.
Councilors in Bamenda in a meeting on Friday, May 6th, 2022 said the military should take over the cleaning of the town.
It was during the account and administrative session of the council that held recently.
“The military should be called upon to assist in clearing the heeps of garbage in Bamenda since insecurity is making the waste management company unable to work,”
