The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo and the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji have delivered relief items to neighbouring Equatorial Guinea.
According to a release by Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, both officials were acting on orders of the Head of State, Paul Biya and were dispatched “… following the disaster that struck this brotherly country on Sunday, 7 March 2021, causing a huge loss of life and property”.
The humanitarian assistance, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh noted, “comprises some sixty personnel of the Military Health Service, the National Corps of Firefighters and the Military Engineering Corps”.
They also took with them “a large consignment of medicines, foodstuffs and various supplies,” he added.
At the moment, it remains uncertain how long the personnel deployed will stay and serve in Equatorial Guinea.
