Territorial Administration Minister Paul Atanga Nji has promised that the February 9 elections will be carried out smoothly all over the national territory.
He was talking at the closing ceremony of the second bi-annual governors conference in Yaounde. Among items top on the agenda, was the security situation with regards to next years twin elections.
The take home message, the minister said, “is that the security situation in Cameroon is under control”. “After a thorough evaluation of the political situation, and the security challenges,” he said. “I can tell you now that elections will take place in the ten regions, the 58 divisions and in all 360 subdivisions,” Minister Atanga added.
Minister Atanga Nji also reminded members and leaders of political parties that no form of disorder will be tolerated, adding that it is time for them to show proof of responsibility.
Also at the conference, the governor of the Littoral region, Samuel Ivaha Diboua was made Grand Commander of the National Order of Valour and his counterpart of the North region, Governor Jean Edi’I Abate, was decorated Commander of the National Order of Valour.
These were followed by a special recognition for the Director of Human Resources at the Ministry of Territorial Administration.
