Ateki Seta Caxton has officially submitted his candidacy to contest in Cameroon’s 2025 presidential election. The civil society leader-turned-politician filed his application on Friday evening, July 12, at the headquarters of Elections Cameroon (Elecam) in Yaoundé.

Representing the Liberal Alliance Party (PAL), Ateki was accompanied by the party’s national president, HRM Celestine Bedzigui, during the candidacy filing process.

“It is a moment of gratitude and determination,” Ateki said shortly after submitting his documents. “Gratitude to all the militants of the Liberal Alliance Party for unanimously presenting me as their flag bearer. I am also very grateful to friends and fellow citizens for welcoming my candidacy with great enthusiasm.”

Ateki Seta Caxton: From Civil Society to Presidential Candidate

Ateki’s candidacy was officially endorsed by the Liberal Alliance Party just one week before his submission to Elecam. Known for his leadership in civil society, Ateki recently stepped down from NewSeta. This is an organisation he founded to promote political awareness and civic engagement, to fully focus on his presidential ambitions.

He also says his campaign will be driven by the core values of integrity, national unity, progressive development, and inclusive governance.

“I am determined to serve the people of Cameroon with vision, honesty, and dedication—to foster unity, progress, and prosperity for all,” Ateki added.
