Calamity hits 2eme Carrefour Ngouache, Bamungoum in Bafoussam 3, West region of Cameroon.
At least ten persons are feared dead, over 50 others declared missing following a landslide last night. Several houses have also been destroyed.
It resulted from intense rainfall in the city Monday October 28, 2019.
“At the moment over fifty people are missing and rescue teams are battling to find them or retrieve their bodies,” governor of the West Region, Awah Fonka Augustine said.
“We have information that many are under the ground.

“The same yesterday at my quarter behind global petrolum petrol station in Baleng, running water carried away a 2 years old baby who was playing under the rain. Corpse not yet see,” the source adds.
This morning the incident was the scene of attraction to scores of villagers. Bulldozers on rescue mission are trying to save lives and properties.
Authorities in Bafoussam are yet to evaluate the rate of damage but many fear, some occupants of the affected houses might be trapped in the rubble.
The houses appear to have been constructed beneath a cliff which expose locals to danger.
