The Homologation and Disciplinary Committee of the Cameroon Football Federation has imposed heavy sanctions on AS Lausanne following the recent attack of a referee.

On Wednesday, April 27, 2023, AS Lausanne fans beat up a referee, accusing him of fraud following a 2-1 loss against FC Rangers of Bafut during the MTN Elite Two games.

FECAFOOT Homologation

Angered by the win, fans of Lausanne, immediately after the match turned to the referee and attacked him physically. This is an act that FECAFOOT strongly stands against:

“FECAFOOT strongly condemns these assaults, which are contrary to the rules and values on which the practice of football is based,” the Federation said in a recent release.

Shortly after the condemnation, a release was made public by the Homologation committee, highlighting the various sanctions imposed on the Football club.

The sanctions according to the release include: “the suspension of the players Yannick Ngono Edou and Adrien Jordan Gnetchou from all competition for two years, Prohibition of coach Nouffessi Samuel Cyprien from carrying out any activity related to Football for a period of five (05) years, imposing a fine of 5,000,000 (five million) FCFA; Exclusion of the AS LAUSANNE club from any competition organized by FECAFOOT for a period of one year (01),” and others.

The Football club has been given a period of five days to request the reasons in writing or tender any appeal.

“If the reasons are not requested within the time allowed, the decision becomes final and binding and the parties are then considered to have waived their right to appeal,” the release stated.
