Back to school: BOBA commits to revive school life in CPC Bali

The national executive committee of the Bali Old Boys’ Association, BOBA, alumni of the Cameroon Protestant College, CPC Bali, has taken a commitment to revive normal school life in the institution following multiple years of shutdown due to security challenges.

Meeting in an enlarged national executive committee meeting on August 14, 2021, the executive committee members resolved that since BOBA chapters worldwide have started contributions towards the revival of normal school activities in CPC Bali, the contributions will continue while waiting for the appropriate moment to decide on the line of action to take.

In this light, the BOBA national executive committee also resolved to empower the the National Executive Committee (NEC) to institute special chapter levies in view of raising more funds towards the reopening and normal functioning of CPC Bali.

Since the start of the Cameroon anglophone crisis, CPC Bali has been shutdown due to insecurity.

In this regard, the BOBA Enlarged National Executive Committee recommended that the the Presbyterian Education Authority and the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, who are owners of CPC Bali to temporarily relocate the school to Mankon – Bamenda.

While appreciating the efforts of the various BOBA branches in raising funds towards the reopening of CPC Bali, the Enlarged National Executive Committee recommended the President General of BOBA to urgently meet with the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon and discuss issues regarding the reopening of the school.

Amongst other issues discussed during the Enlarged National Executive Committee meeting was the situation of the National Executive Committee. The mandate of this Committee had expired since 2017 and elections have not been conducted since then.

On this issue, the BOBA Enlarged National Executive Committee resolved to convene an elective general assembly for November 2021.
