Back-To-School: CAMASEJ Douala assists IDPs with Didactic Materials

At least 23 Internally Displaced School-going children from the Anglophone regions have been assisted with Didactic Materials by the Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists, CAMASEJ Douala branch.

The beneficiaries of the gifts were selected from the Kuwait neighborhood in the Douala II subdivision where they reside since leaving the Anglophone regions.

According to the CAMASEJ Douala branch president, Maureen Ndi, the humanitarian aid granted by the association will be extended to other parts of Douala. She equally adds that the next phase won’t only see school-going children benefit from, but also parents who cannot meet up financially to their children’s needs.

The beneficiaries extended their gratitude to CAMASEJ, stating various ways in which the help will facilitate things for them. “The Money I was supposed to use in buying books will now be used to purchase other school needs such as sandals and more” explained Nesla Ngong, an IDP who recently passed the GCE Ordinary Level.

At the end of the visit with the IDP kids, the president of CAMASEJ group, Maureen used the opportunity to educate them on sex, with emphasis on early teenage pregnancies. Male beneficiaries on their part were educated on the benefits of abstaining from drug addiction.
