Back- to- school campaign meeting boycotted in Jakiri

Just fourteen inhabitants of Jakiri turned out to listen to the message of back- to- school 2019/2020 preached by the senior divisional officer, SDO of Bui division in the North West region of Cameroon.
Hundreds of chairs placed at the conference hall in the office of the divisional officer of Jakiri Friday August 16th remained empty throughout the 45 minutes used by the SDO to call on parents to send their kids to school on the 2nd of September 2019.
The SDO , Simon Emile Mooh used less than an hour talking to members of his delegation and a few workers he met at the DO ‘s office in Jakiri instead of parents to whom the message of back to is directed.

Simon Emile Mooh, SDO of Bui Division

Simon Emile Mooh speaking to the press after the disappointing visit insisted that government has taken measures to ensure the security of kids and teachers ahead of school resumption.

Few residents of Jakiri say more than half of the population are either living in bushes or have fled to other towns for safety. Some residents had the courage telling the SDO that school resumption this September will be the most difficult thing given the present insecure situation. Others simply stayed away from the meeting for fear attacks, Mimi Mefo Info was told.
