Bafia: More than 70 families homeless as winds blow roofs away

A total number of 50 houses had their roofs uprooted by strong winds in Bafia in the Centre region on March 15, 2021.

This left more than 70 Families gazing the stars and pleading for Government assistance to repair the damages and return to normal life.

The victims of the storm include some persons with physical impairments including visual impairment and persons with reduced mobility.

According to several sources, it is not the first time that the people of Bafia and Mbam & Inoubou have been affected by such severely bad weather in recent times. However, it is said that the damage caused this time around is greater than previous ones. Hence, an urgent need for humanitarian assistance in the area.

Given that the Head of States dispatched a humanitarian envoy to Bata in Equatorial Guinea after the explosion which killed about 98 people, the people of Bafia are highly expectant of a humanitarian aid of the same sort by the Head of State and other people of goodwill.
