Transport Minister slams one-year suspension on Charter Express travel agency

Transport Minister Massena Ngalle Bibehe has placed a one-year ban on transport agency, Charter Express for overloading its buses and speeding above the limit on the Yaoundé-Bafang axis.

In a communiqué published on March 18, 2021, Minister Ngalle Bibehe instructed that the transport agency will be grounded for a whole year due to its utter disregard for road safety measures.

A bus belonging to the transport agency was apprehended on March 13, 2021 on the Bafang-Yaounde axis in total violation of all road safety codes.

Apart from being on high speed above the required limit, it was equally overloaded, putting the lives of several persons in grave danger.

The Transport Ministry also announced the suspension of the driving license of Mr. Feupossi Charles, the driver of the apprehended bus, for a one year period.
