Balikumbat: Military burns home of repentant amba fighter

The Cameroon military is once more author of misery on civilians in the Anglophone regions as the house of one Mr. Joseph, a repentant separatist fighter was torched to the ground.

His father, Mr. Doh Ngoh, who equally happens to be a very important notable of the Balikumbat community was equally apprehended by the military in the raid and taken to the council where they are camping.

Mr. Doh Ngoh was taken alongside one of his grandsons, 17-year-old Barthelomie who has a speaking disability (autistic) and whose sole purpose till their arrest was taking care of his grandfather in his old age.

Without an explanation and without a clear reason for the pair’s arrest, Bathelomie was reportedly well beaten by the military upon arrest before being taken to the barracks.

They also left a message to Doh Ngoh’s other two minor grandchildren of ages 11 and 7 when the elderly man and Bathelomie were being arrested. The soldiers said the children will never see their grandfather again.

As if that was not traumatic enough for these kids, the military ordered these children to come bid their grandfather a final farewell. This is the second case of inhumane and barbaric acts meted on relatives of suspected separatist fighters in less than a week.

The first was the incident in Ndu where the brother of an alleged separatist fighter was tortured by 8 uniform officers till he passed out, simply because his brother may be a separatist fighter.
