Bambili Celebrates Anonymous Bike Rider Who Submitted Shot Gendarme’s Gun To Authorities

Residents in Tubah subdivision have been celebrating an anonymous bike rider who courageously collected the gun of a shot gendarmerie element in Bambili on the morning of July 19th and submitted it to the gendarmerie brigade commander in Bambili.

The gendarmerie element was shot by alleged separatist fighters at the down quarter neighborhood in Bambili late at night breaking July19th.

The gendarmerie element working with the GPIG branch guarding the University of Bamenda is said to have struggled and boarded a bike to take him to the Tubah Medicalised Health Center that night.

On the way to the hospital, the said Gendarmerie element fell off the motorbike and died out of over bleeding. The bike rider that is still to be identified collected the Gendarmerie gun and drove off to the brigade where he handed it.

It was only then that the gendarmes alongside the UBa group fired gun shot on the air and collected the corps that was lying at the entrance into the University of Bamenda. Residents only work up the next day to see blood stains on the road.

According to Aloysius, a bike rider in Bambili, the bike rider who courageously took the dead gendarme’s gun to the brigade should be recognized.

“I think he needs a medal. Medals are given to people who have done nothing. This guy knew what will happen to him if he meets with separatist fighters, yet he took the courage. He is a brave guy,” he said.
Patricia, a vendor in Bambili says the guy is a peace lover.

” This guy is surely tired of the killings everyday and knows what it would have happened if he left the gun there or took it home or to the separatists. It would have been a disaster. I like his action,” she said.

Bambili has been on alert since the Ambazonian self-styled “General nlNo Pity” announced his presence in the area, causing panic amongst civilians and the military a month ago
