Bamboutos Football Club has officially acknowledged and accepted the suspension imposed upon them by the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT). The football federation has been urged to address the outstanding debts owed to the Club, totaling 121 Million FCFA.

They made the claim in a letter addressed to the president of FECAFOOT, Samuel Eto’o Fils.

The various payments, according to the letter “relate to the different activities and movements of our team for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons”.

Bamboutos FC writes to FECAFOOT asking for debt payments.

Genesis of Fecafoot-Bamboutos Saga

On August 15, The Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed FECAFOOT’s decision not to grant Bamboutos FC of Mbouda a licence to play in the 2023–2024 CAF interclub competitions.

” In view of the above, please note that your request cannot be accepted, therefore FECAFOOT’s decision remains valid,” CAF stated in a release.

The following day, Bamboutos of Mbouda filed a request to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for provisional and conservatory measures in its appeal against CAF and FECAFOOT relating to the granting of a licence to play in African competitions.

On August 18, a mere few hours later, the Court of Arbitration once again rejected their request.

After having accepted their fate and digested FECAFOOT’s decisions, the Football Club has called on the federation to refund the sum of 121 million CFA that it owes them.
