Separatist fighters in Bamenda suffered several causalities over the weekend. Several were killed City Chemist roundabout, Che Street, and in Mile Two with some bodies paraded at Finance Junction.

City dwellers woke up this Tuesday to see several coffins placed at major road junctions of Mulang, Rendezvous, Old simplicity Ntarinkon and city chemist. The coffins, accompanied by fetish pots, are believed to be a mythical way to revenge the killing of their fellow fighters who got killed over the weekend.

The situation this morning has attracted the military that has moved in, creating a perimeter around the coffins. It’s alleged some of the coffins might contain something unknown like explosive devices. According to Mary, a resident of Mulang, she is stunned by the coffins. She has described the action as very primitive.

“How can military kill your brothers or friends with guns and you go make voodoo in a coffin and come place at the road. It’s very primitive she said”
According to martin in Ntarinkon, the village warfare has now reached the towns.

“I used to hear of these exploits of separatist fighters in Kom, Bafut, and NSo. Now it’s practiced right in town. I wonder how this will fight their opponents” martin said.

Many have also commented that the move by separatist fighters aims at driving fear in the minds of denizens to respect the lockdown announcement for September 15th.
