Bamenda-Wum Road: One die from accident as result of bad state

By Soulemanu Buba

One person has died as the result of an accident on the Bamenda-Wum Road.

Reports say the young man who was the assistant driver of the Hilux vehicle died when the vehicle hit him against the wall.

Though the circumstances surrounding the incident still remains a mystery, MMI gathered that the deplorable state of the road contributed to the death of the victim.

” We heard that they got to a point were they had to push the vehicle. As they were pushing, the vehicle started rolling backward. Others escaped but this guy in an attempt to support the heavily loaded vehicle died in the process,” said Kum, a native of Wum familiar with the story.

The Bamenda-Wum Road which is part of the ring road is in a very bad state and the situation has been like this for decades.

Traveling to Wum in Menchum Division, North West Region of Cameroon is said to be a night mare given the bad state of the road.
