Bandjoun:
Baccalaureate student under medical care after consuming kerosene

A girl by name by Christelle Bouzeka is currently receiving medical attention after attempting to terminate her life by consuming Kerosene.

The incident took place in Bandjoun, Koung-Khi Division of the West Region, on July 27, 2022.

According to reports, when informed of the release of the results of the baccalaureate examination, Christelle Bouzeka, a student in “Terminal” at the Calasanz private college, rushed just like her other mates to dial the code.

To her greatest surprise, After a first, a second, then a third attempt she received the results indicating se had failed.

Unable to digest the results, Christelle reportedly isolated herself and decided to take in a bottle of Kerosene.

The concerns of her parents immediately pushed them to engage in a search, after which she was found at a corner of the house, drooling.

Being in a critical condition, she was immediately transported to the Protestant hospital in Mbouo. The critical condition in which she arrived there prompted some to hastily announce her death.

However, the detox treatment administered saved her from the worst. She was brought back to life at around 11:30 pm.

According to the medical practitioners, she will have to remain under observation in the hospital.

This suicide attempt is not a new phenomenon. More and more, students, unable to contain the pain of failing an official exam, tend to attempt suicide to saveface from the wrath of their parents or the ridicule of those around them.
