New Yaoundé 4 DO charged to take up fight against urban disorder, foster development

Akondi Elvis has been installed as the new Divisional Officer of Yaounde 4 in the Mfoundi Division of the Center Region.

The installation, presided by the Senior Divisional Officer for Mfoundi, Emmanuel Mariel took place on Friday, July 29, 2022.

The ceremony saw a massive turnout of the population of Yaounde 4, including administrative authorities, elites, and traditional rulers.

The Mfoundi SDO used the opportunity to remind him of his duties towards the population.

“He has to accompany the mayor in fighting urban disorder, and realising some works which are currently taking place in Yaounde 4 like Yaounde-Nsimalen stretch,” Emmanuel Mariel indicated.

Akondi Elvis takes over from the outgoing DO, Samuel Nokuri who spent about 3 years as Divisional Officer of Yaounde 4. He was equally appreciated for his works throughout his stay as DO of Yaounde 4.

The Mfoundi SDO at the ceremony further urged Akondi Elvis to work in collaboration with the population and the administrative authorities surrounding him.

He stated that Akondi Elvis “…should intensify some measures to work in collaboration with the population and the traditional rulers.”

Before he was appointed Divisional Officer of Yaounde 4, Akondi Elvis served as Divisional Officer of Ebolowa I in the South Region.
