Diamaré SDO reassures population amidst rising insecurity

The Senior Divisional Officer for Diamaré, Jean Marc Ekoa Mbarga has reassured the population of his area of command of moves to boost security.

Amidst increasing robberies, ransom demands, thefts, assaults amongst others occurring daily in the Division, steps, he said, have been taken to keep them secure

He made the promise as he met the population and discussed with the administrative and religious authorities.
The SDO asked the Divisional Officers to launch a campaign with the members of the vigilante groups who must be accompanied by the defense and security forces.

“For a few months we have been in the crosshairs of the bandits, we have lost sleep. You go to the market you finish your purchases in the night the guys go home well armed. It’s really scary, we’re overwhelmed,” narrated a resident.

The SDO of Diamaré faced with these multiple robberies at home began a safety tour. Jean Marc Ekoa Mbarga toured the different districts that make up Diamaré, his command territory.

“We have to look each other in the eye and tell certain truths, especially when the administrative authority comes in person to report on the spot. After the departure of the SDO, we must not stay behind to talk,” said a head of a family in the locality.

During his tour, Jean Marc assured the population that security measures are being put in place to curb the increasing rate of atrocities in the Division.
