Christians of the Jean Baptist church have been urged not to lose faith, after the arrest of their pastor, Michel Julio Effa Effa, a former military captain.
A few days ago, a communiqué was published by the church, condemning the pastor’s act.
A member of the church who witnessed the moment of the arrest narrated: “We saw several vehicles entering the church compound, a neighbor came calling on me that security officials have come to arrest the pastor.”
Another member however encouraged the Christians “… to continue with the spiritual activities of the church while the said pastor is on suspension.”
The former army captain was arrested on Monday, July 18 for being involved in a robbery and torture case. He was arrested in Sangmelima in the South Region of Cameroon in possession of about 25 guns.
“It is written that in the last days there will be fake projets everywhere. When we talk of fake prophets we mean fake pastors, this is because we don’t understand how a normal pastor will carry out such an evil act,” a local stated, addressing the Preacher’s alleged act.
Meanwhile, Michel Julio Effa Effa is currently under the custody of the forces of law and order.
