Bar president accuses Douala hospital of negligence in death of Barrister Diboma

The President of the Cameroon Bar Association, Barrister Mbah Eric Mbah has vowed to provide proofs that the late Barrister Samuel Diboma died as a result of negligence on the part of the Laquintinie Hospital.

On January 3, 2023, Victor Samuel DIBOMA was attacked in his neighborhood at the cité sic in Douala, Littoral Region of Cameroon.

Despite the declarations made by Laquintinie Hospital noting that the deceased was attended to and properly taken care of upon arrival, the Bar president has expressed his determination to get to the root of the matter.

According to the Bar President, “More than 30 minutes that he was in the hospital, they did not attend to him. They said some bills must first be paid but the physical cash was not enough. So they had to pay through orange money.”

“Network was not good, and the time for them to do the payment, a nurse comes in and ask them to pay for just three drugs and they paid the drugs,” he added.

Batonnier Mbah Eric Mbah further disclosed that the young Doctor on duty did not bother to examine the victim, in order to find out what had happened to him.

In this light, the Bar president insisted that” what happened was a clear case of negligence.”

He has promised to “prove it when the time comes.”

Samuel Diboma was a former student of the Comprehensive High School Bonaberi in the Douala IV municipality.

He equally studied law at the University of Douala before he became a lawyer.
