A group of outraged commercial bike riders stormed and set ablaze the Belabo Hospital for neglecting a colleague who sustained severe injuries from an accident.

The incident which occurred September 24, 2022 in the Lom et Djerem division of the East Region of Cameroon left huge material losses.

According to reports, a commercial bike rider driver who sustained severe injuries from a traffic accident was rushed to the said hospital but was neglected, causing him to lose a lot of blood.

Angered by this gesture by the medical personnel of the hospital, the bike riders, after threatening to deal with them went ahead to set up part of the hospital on fire.

“They abandoned the victim because of lack of finances. This angered the bike riders who armed with dangerous objects, threatened to the medical personnel before setting the hospital ablaze,” reported ActuCameroon.

An Investigation has been opened to trace the bike riders at the origin of the hospital’s arson.
