Belo Council aids Persons Living With Disabilities

The Belo council has embarked on a project to provide assistance to Persons Living With Disabilities within its jurisdiction.

Many of the disabled persons in Belo are in need of devices to ease mobility. Due to this, the council through its mayor, Ngong Innocent, has acquired and donated tricycles, white canes as well as crutches to these needed population.

According to mayor Ngong Innocent, the move is intended to alleviate the sufferings of the disabled in the Belo Municipality.

“We want to increase their mobility so that they can go about their economic activities. We came in with tricycles, crutches, and white canes which we are handing over to them”, Mayor Ngong Innocent said.

The president of the Disabled Persons in Belo, Jua Martina has appreciated the initiative of the council

“We are very happy because many of us didn’t have these crutches to enable us move around”, Jua Martina said.

The mayor also revealed that they’re plans by the council to ensure a smooth start of the 2021/2022 academic year as they have expressed the desire to donate didactic materials to the vulnerable population of the locality.
