A new base has been inaugurated for Cameroon’s elite military forces, the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR), in Beka Guiwan, a locality in Meiganga, Adamawa Region.
The BIR base was inaugurated Friday, March 10, with its primary goal to curb insecurity along Cameroon’s border with Central African Republic.
The area has suffered years of assaults, including kidnapping, abductions and cattle theft by armed men.
