Bodies of missing children found, slaughtered, and dumped in a bush

Two children have been found dead after being kidnapped and murdered by unknown men in Bukubi, Far North Region of Cameroon.

9-years-old Madalene and 4-years-old George reportedly went missing on the evening of Saturday, June 4, 2022.

An intense search was launched at about 6pm the same evening, which proved futile.

The search however continued on Sunday morning during which the lifeless bodies of the children were found. The bodies were discovered with butchered necks in the nearby village of Mayo.

According to Commander Abakachi of the Kaélé gendarmerie Brigade, who was at the scene, the children were kidnapped, killed somewhere, and dumped in the bush. The motive behind the brutal acts has still not been established.

The Kaélé gendarmerie has opened investigations to trace the murderers of the two children and establish the reason behind their actions.
