Boko Haram strikes Far North again, kills one

A 65-year-old man has been shot dead in Mayo Sava, a division in Cameroon’s Far North region.

He was a victim of the latest Boko Haram attack, one of many that have taken place in the region recently.

Reports say the victim was shot at point-blank by his assailants in Dougdje, a village in Kolofata during the attack on the night of Sunday, December 14 to Monday, December 15.

The members of the group are said to have taken off immediately after carrying out the act.

The recent attacks, locals say, have left them in fear as the government keeps promising to step up security but nothing changes.

“We sleep with one eye open. It has always been so especially at the end of the year” testifies a local.
