Boumnyebel accident death toll rises to four

Today’s accident at Boumnyebel in the Center Region of Cameroon has been blamed on high speed.

Another driver who happened to use the same stretch of road told Mimi Mefo Info four persons died on the spot of the accident.

“When we were descending the driver succeeded in overtaking a FINEX bus and then wanted to overtake my truck,” he explained.

This, he went on, did not go as planned: “the tyre fired and the wheel went off and the car ran into the bush”.

The survivors, he added, have been rushed to hospital.

Boumyebel is situated along the Yaounde-Douala highway, in Cameroon’s centre region.

The stretch of road is reputable for such accidents.
